Groom Wedding Speech

Groom Wedding Speech, Wedding Speech For the Groom
Experienced public speakers will tell you that there are only a handful of important things to remember before delivering a groom wedding speech. I’ve narrowed down the ten most important features that every groom should remember.
Writing the groom speech is about great content and great delivery. However, in order to write top tier content, you need to ask yourself the relevant questions.
Generally, I like to brainstorm two pages of material. Of course, because the groom speech is only five minutes in length, most of my brainstorming ideas for the groom speech will end up on the cutting room floor.
I like to begin my brainstorm by focusing on some key stories about the bride. You want to say something touching about the bride such as why you’ve chosen her to be your life partner.
I like to focus on the top three stories that come to your mind about the bride. Perhaps it might be the first time that you met or maybe there is an interesting story about a particular characteristic that you want to emphasize. For example, if you want to tell the audience that you love your generous ways, you would tell a story about how she helps out at the homeless shelter every Christmas.
You also want to think about stories that made you feel a certain way. Maybe you went on a ski trip and the bride iced down your back after a tumble on the slopes. I generally like to focus on specific stories that will generate emotion in the audience.
If you’re having a tough time with this part of the groom speech writing process I suggest that you try and think about the top three characteristics of the bride. For example, you might be engaged to a woman who is cheerful, generous and intelligent. By focusing on the top three characteristics you narrow down the scope of your stories to what is truly important.
If you’re still stuck for content you can talk about your life before you met the bride. Maybe she helped you gain an appreciation for nature because she’s a nature lover. Maybe you started running marathons after bringing her into your life. Try to think of the ways that your life has changed for the better since you started dating her.
After you have said some kind words about your loving bride, you want to focus the rest of your groom speech on showing appreciation to your family. You also want to show some gratitude to the people who contributed money for the wedding. This is often the father of the bride so you want to make sure that you thank him in your groom speech.
You then will want to choose a traditional quote or toast to close out your speech.
As a word of caution I want to remind you that a wedding groom speech is only five minutes. This means that you do not have time to tell several stories and show gratitude to your friends and family. The key to a great groom speech is editing. You need to take your ideas and eliminate most of them. Yes, of course lots of great stories might end up on the cutting room floor but this is normal. You won’t be able to express all of your thoughts and ideas. The key is to try and focus on the most important anecdotes and kind words that truly express how you feel about your loving bride.
